In Jason Miller‘s inaugural directorial venture, “Ghosts of the Void,” a chilling exploration of the American Dream’s fragility takes center stage. A newly released trailer delves deeper into the unsettling horror presented by the film.
“Ghosts of the Void” is set to be available on Digital and VOD starting on Tuesday, November 7, 2023.
The film’s narrative unfolds with Jen and Tyler, a couple who once enjoyed the trappings of a solid marriage, a comfortable home, and promising careers. However, as Tyler’s drinking problem escalates and his writer’s block persists, relentless debt collectors show no mercy, compelling the couple out of their home and into their car. Overwhelmed by stress, exhaustion, and the weight of failure, Jen and Tyler park their car in a vacant lot, seeking respite in a good night’s sleep before confronting the harsh realities of the impending day. Yet, their rest is disrupted by encounters with homeless wanderers, mischievous local youths, and, ominously, menacing strangers donning terrifying masks.
Tedra Millan and Michael Reagan take on the lead roles in this nightmarish tale.
In a review featured at Popcorn Frights, the film is described as challenging perceptions and offering hope through the character of Jen. However, it is emphasized that “Ghosts of the Void” doesn’t provide an escape from the bleak and reality-based horror it presents. The film, while impeccably directed, serves as a haunting debut that doesn’t shy away from the devastating.
Behind the scenes, the production is overseen by Seth Savoy, Mike Ware, and Tony Kamin, with a lineup of executive producers including Cory Coken, Bryen Hensley, Anthony Marchese, Jamie Vanadia, Edward Weil, Ted Reilly, Mark Glassgow, and Kelly Waller. Nathan Salter is the cinematographer, while Brendan Jamieson handles editing, and Devin Delaney takes charge of the film’s music composition. “Ghosts of the Void” is a production of Speakeasy Films.
