Thanksgiving is a time for feasts, family, fun, and to give thanks for all that you have.  It is also time to be festive for some gory and corny Thanksgiving horror flicks.  This list will get you amped up for Thanksgiving with blood and gore, as we will be listing the top 10 horror movies to consume this November to get you ready for the Thanksgiving holiday.

10. Kristy (2014)

Kristy is a 2014 film about a college girl who has been left all alone on campus over the Thanksgiving break and she must overcome the odds when she is hunted down by a group of unknown outcasts.  The synopsis reads, “When a college girl who is alone on campus over the Thanksgiving break is targeted by a group of outcasts, she must conquer her deepest fears to outwit them and fight back.”  The film stars Haley Bennett, Ashley Greene, Lucas Till, Erica Ash, Mathew S. Patrick, Chris Coy, Mike Seal, Lucius Falick, James Ransone, and Al Vicente.

9. Blood Freak (1972)

Blood Freak screams the Thanksgiving massacre and is done so iconically from the 1970s.  A biker ends up testing some chemicals after obtaining a job at a turkey farm that has some interesting side effects, to say the least.  The synopsis reads, “A biker gets a job at a turkey farm and agrees to act as a guinea pig for some chemicals that need to be tested, failing to anticipate the murderous side effects.”  The film stars Steve Hawkes, Dana Cullivan, Larry Wright, Heather Hughes, and Randy Grinter.

8. ThanXgiving (2006)

ThanXgiving brings a Blair Witch Project vibe into the mix with a group of film students traveling deep into the woods to make a movie and things just go wrong from there.  The synopsis reads, “A group of film students travel deep into the woods to make a movie, thinking that they’ve found the perfect location in the form of an abandoned campground.”  The film stars Ari Lehman, Suki Peters, Forrest Boston, Jaxon Stanford, and Cody Matthew Blymire.

7. Alien Abduction:  Incident in Lake County (1998)

Alien Abduction:  Incident in Lake County has a mysterious blackout, in which aliens follow a set of siblings to their home and cause mayhem.  The synopsis reads, “After a mysterious blackout, a son goes out to investigate and captures footage of actual aliens. When the aliens follow him and his brothers back to their home, all hell breaks loose.”  The film stars Benz Antoine, Kristian Ayre, Gillian Barber, and Michael Buie.

6. Home Sweet Home (1981)

Home Sweet Home features an escaped mental patient who steals a station wagon (sound familiar *cough*Halloween*cough*) and plans to crash a Thanksgiving feast in a murderous rampage.  The synopsis reads, “An escaped mental patient steals a station wagon and makes his way to the Bradleys’ Thanksgiving celebration, where he plans to make them a little less thankful.”  The film stars Jake Steinfeld, Vinessa Shaw, Don Edmonds, Charles Hoyes, Peter De Paula, and Leia Naron.

5. The Oath (2018)

The Oath is a comedy-thriller film that has a man struggling with his politically divided family and trying to not destroy his family.  The synopsis reads, “In a politically divided America, a man struggles to make it through the Thanksgiving holiday without destroying his family.”  The film stars Ike Barinholtz, Tiffany Haddish, Nora Dunn, Chris Ellis, John Cho, and Meredith Hagner.

4. Poultrygeist: Night of the Chicken Dead (2006)

Poultrygeist:  Night of the Chicken Dead is an interesting take on zombified chickens that attempt to kill workers of a restaurant that has been built on their land.  The synopsis reads, “Zombified chickens attempt to kill the fast-food workers that cook them in a restaurant built on an ancient burial ground.”  The film stars Jason Yachanin, Kate Graham, Allyson Sereboff, Robin L. Watkins, and Khalib Rivera.

3. Séance

Séance is just as the title states, using the means of a séance to rid their dorm of a troubled girl’s ghost, but bring the girl’s killer back instead.  The synopsis reads, “In an attempt to rid their dorm of a troublesome little girl ghost a group of college students inadvertently bring back the little girl’s killer.”  The film stars Bridget Shergalis, Tori White, Emily O’Brien, Kandis Fay, Chauntal Lewis, Brandon Mychal Smith, Jack Hunter, AJ Lamas, Joel Geist, and Adrian Paul.

2. Pilgrim (2019)

Pilgrim is about a woman inviting re-enactors to produce a show on the first Thanksgiving for her family and friends, but the actors refuse to break character and turn the first Thanksgiving play into a slaughterhouse.  The synopsis reads, “A woman invites re-enactors to produce an authentic first Thanksgiving for her family and friends. However, things take an unexpected turn when the actors refuse to break character.”  The film stars Reign Edwards, Kerr Smith, Peter Giles, Beth Curry, Antonio Raul Corbo, Taj Speights, and Courtney Henggeler.

1. Thankskilling (2008)

Thankskilling is about a homicidal turkey (in probably the most hilarious, frightening, and horribly done CGI ever) killing off some college kids during their Thanksgiving break.  The synopsis reads, “A homicidal turkey axes off college kids during Thanksgiving break.”  The film stars Wanda Lust, Natasha Cordova, Lindsey Anderson, Lance Predmore, Ryan Francis, Aaron Ringhiser-Carlson, and Chuck Lamb.
