10. The Mean One (2022)
What better way to start this list with the man who brought Art the Clown to life? The Mean One is a classic, yet foretold tale on The Grinch who looks to, not just steal Christmas, but massacre it! The synopsis reads, “In a sleepy mountain town, Cindy’s parents are murdered and her Christmas is stolen by a bloodthirsty green figure in a red Santa suit.” The film stars David Howard Thornton, Krystle Martin, Chase Mullins, John Bigham, Erik Baker, and Flip Kobler.
9. Jack Frost (1997)
Jack Frost is a holiday slasher where the murderer of the same name returns from the dead as a murderous snowman to go after the man who sent him to be executed. There’s something just fun and enjoyable about a demon who loses a bet with an angel and has to use his looks as Santa Claus to give happiness and toys to the good girls and boys. Santa’s Slay, although low-budget, is quite a fun time for those interested in independent films. The synopsis reads, “Santa Claus is actually a demon who lost a bet with an angel, so he becomes the giver of toys and happiness.
