Deadline tells us that the production for the reboot of ‘The Exorcist’ has come to a temporary halt.

Deadline writes, “Sources cited an unspecified health issue involving Leslie Odom Jr., who stars alongside Ellen Burstyn, reprising her role as Chris MacNeil from the original 1973 movie.”

Ann Dowd (Hereditary) will star in next year’s sequel

David Gordon Green directs the sequel to The Exorcist for Universal, Blumhouse, and Morgan Creek and will pave the way for a planned trilogy. The first film should be released theatrically on October 13, 2023.

The plot we know so far

“Odom Jr. will play the father of a possessed child. Desperate for help, he tracks down Ms. Burstyn’s character.”

We will let you know more, once we know more. In the meantime, check out more news here!
