The 30th anniversary of The Nightmare Before Christmas is taking place in 2023, and there are some special things happening for the film and its characters to commemorate such a huge milestone.  The bad news is that the Tim Burton film will NOT be doing another “lazy” Blu-ray upgrade.  Instead, the good news is that it’ll be doing a 4K Blu-ray/Digital release for this very special occasion.

The 4K Blu-ray/Digital release for the beloved Nightmare Before Christmas will be on August 22, 2023, and you can pre-order your copy at Walmart now. There was also a listing to pre-order it from Amazon, however, it has been taken down for unknown reasons. Disney stated that in the coming days, the listing for Amazon will be back up and running. This release is a “now or never” situation and with it being 30 years, it seemed fitting. It is being dubbed “The Ultimate Collector’s Edition” and includes the following bonus features:

While rumors were swirling around for years regarding a sequel to The Nightmare Before Christmas, there has been no official confirmation thus far. However, Tim Burton fans do have Beetlejuice 2 to look forward to. Maybe if Beetlejuice 2 does well at the box office, that’ll give us some hope for a sequel to The Nightmare Before Christmas!
