‘The Monkey’ is based on a short story from King’s 1985 collection ‘Skeleton Crew’, which also includes works like ‘The Mist’, ‘The Jaunt’, and ‘The Raft’.

The film stars Theo James (The White Lotus), Tatiana Maslany (She-Hulk: Attorney at Law), Elijah Wood (Maniac), Christian Convery (Sweet Tooth), Colin O’Brien (Wonka), Rohan Campbell (Halloween Ends), and Sarah Levy (Schitt’s Creek).

Osgood Perkins, known for ‘The Blackcoat’s Daughter’, ‘Gretel & Hansel’, and this year’s ‘Longlegs’, wrote and directed the film.

In ‘The Monkey’, twin brothers Hal and Bill stumble upon their father’s old monkey toy in the attic, triggering a series of gruesome deaths in their vicinity. As the brothers attempt to discard the toy and move on with their lives, they grow apart. However, when the mysterious deaths resume, they must come together to find a way to destroy the monkey once and for all before it claims the lives of everyone they love.

James Wan produces alongside his Atomic Monster partner Michael Clear (M3GAN), and Jason Cloth (Joker) and Dave Caplan (Babylon) from C2 Motion Picture Group.
