The narrative unfolds as “a young American woman is dispatched to Rome to embark on a life devoted to the church. Yet, amidst her journey, she confronts a malevolent force that shakes her faith and unearths a harrowing conspiracy aiming to bring forth the embodiment of pure evil.”
Starring Nell Tiger Free (“Servant”), Tawfeek Barhom (“Mary Magdalene”), Sonia Braga (“Kiss of the Spider Woman”), Ralph Ineson (“The Witch,” known as Onyx the Fortuitous), and Bill Nighy (“Living”), “The First Omen” promises a riveting cast.
Helmed by director Arkasha Stevenson, the film is based on characters created by David Seltzer (“The Omen”), featuring a storyline by Ben Jacoby (“Bleed”) and a screenplay crafted by Tim Smith & Arkasha Stevenson alongside Keith Thomas (“Firestarter”).
The original 1976 classic, starring Gregory Peck, Lee Remick, and Harvey Stephens, followed an American ambassador entangled in the belief that his young son embodies the Antichrist.
Spawned from the success of the original, the franchise spawned three sequels, including “Damien: Omen II” (1978) and “The Final Conflict” (1981), alongside a 2006 reboot. Additionally, a brief-lived “Damien” television series was part of its legacy.
David S. Goyer (“Hellraiser”) and Keith Levine (“The Night House”) produce the film, with Tim Smith, Whitney Brown (“Rosaline”), and Gracie Wheelan serving as executive producers.
