Immerse yourself in the hilarious and thrilling world of ‘The Blackening’ by watching the brand new FINAL trailer up here!
Having made its debut at the Toronto International Film Festival, ‘The Blackening’ revolves around a tight-knit group of Black friends who gather for a Juneteenth weekend getaway. Little do they know that their retreat will turn into a nightmarish ordeal as they find themselves trapped in a remote cabin with a sadistic killer. Bound by the killer’s twisted rules, the friends quickly realize that this is no ordinary game.
Directed by Tim Story (known for ‘Ride Along,’ ‘Think Like A Man,’ and ‘Barbershop’) and co-written by Tracy Oliver (‘Girls Trip,’ ‘Harlem’) and Dewayne Perkins (‘The Amber Ruffin Show,’ ‘Brooklyn Nine-Nine’), ‘The Blackening’ skillfully satirizes genre tropes while posing a sardonic question: if the entire cast of a horror movie is Black, who dies first?”
Emerging as one of the breakout hits from the Toronto International Film Festival, ‘The Blackening’ boasts a talented ensemble cast, including Antoinette Robertson, Dewayne Perkins, Sinqua Walls, Grace Byers, X Mayo, Melvin Gregg, Jermaine Fowler, Yvonne Orji, and Jay Pharoah.
The film is produced by Marcei A. Brown, Jason Clark, E. Brian Dobbins, Tracy Oliver, Tim Story, and Sharla Sumpter Bridgett, with Perkins serving as a co-producer and Vicky Story as an associate producer. Get ready to laugh and scream with ‘The Blackening,’ a horror-comedy that is set to dominate the summer horror scene.
