Filmmaker Kiah Roache-Turner is set to unleash spine-chilling terror this spring with “Sting,” a film that promises to amplify your arachnophobia to unimaginable heights. Well Go USA will debut the giant spider thriller in theaters on April 12, 2024.

The newly unveiled official trailer offers a glimpse into the hair-raising world of “Sting,” showcasing not only the monstrous arachnid horror but also the impressive practical spider effects crafted by the esteemed Weta Workshop, led by Creative Director Richard Taylor (“Blade Runner 2049,” “King Kong,” “The Lord of the Rings Trilogy”).

“Sting” features a stellar cast including Ryan Corr (“House of the Dragon,” “The Water Diviner”), Alyla Browne (“Three Thousand Years of Longing,” “Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga”), Penelope Mitchell (“Hellboy”), Robyn Nevin (“Relic,” “Wolf Like Me”), Noni Hazlehurst (“The End”), and Jermaine Fowler (“The Blackening”).

The premise of “Sting” unfolds on a stormy night in New York City when a mysterious object crashes through the window of a decrepit apartment building, revealing an egg from which emerges a peculiar spider. This discovery sets off a chain of terrifying events as Charlotte, a 12-year-old girl obsessed with comic books, forms a bond with the spider, naming it Sting. However, as Sting grows at an alarming rate and develops an insatiable hunger for blood, Charlotte and the building’s residents find themselves trapped and hunted by the monstrous arachnid. Charlotte holds the key to stopping the creature, but time is running out.

“Sting” is deeply rooted in Roache-Turner’s own profound fear of spiders. The filmmaker, known for his previous works like the post-apocalyptic zombie thriller “Wyrmwood: Road of the Dead” and the comedy sci-fi/horror “Nekrotronic,” draws upon his knack for delivering intense and captivating cinema.

Prepare yourself for a spider-filled April as “Sting” promises to deliver heart-pounding thrills and nerve-wracking suspense.
