Production has successfully concluded on the horror film “Svalta,” a collaboration between XYZ Films, Wayward Entertainment, and Resolute Films. This thrilling movie stars Nick Frost (known for “Shaun of the Dead” and “Hot Fuzz”) and Aisling Bea (of “This Way Up” fame), with direction by Steffen Haars.

The picturesque backdrop for the film was Tampere, Finland, and it is currently in the post-production phase in the United Kingdom.

Penned by Nick Frost himself, “Svalta” revolves around a family embarking on a summer vacation to a secluded island, only to stumble upon the presence of a serial killer. Unluckily for them, the local residents offer no assistance to the stranded family. The film takes its name from the fictional island at the heart of the story.

The leading cast also features Sebastian Croft (from “Heartstopper”) and newcomer Maisie Ayres.

Lee Kim, John Hegeman, Nick Spicer, Aram Tertzakian, Nick Frost, and Richard Kondal come together as the production team for “Svalta,” with Lee Kim representing Resolute Films, John Hegeman for Wayward Entertainment, Nick Spicer and Aram Tertzakian for XYZ Films, and Nick Frost. Co-production duties are handled by Richard Kondal for Big Safari, while Vince Totino of Wayward Entertainment and Patrick Fischer of Creativity Capital serve as executive producers.

“Svalta” secures financing through a partnership between XYZ Films and IPR.VC, further supported by additional funding from Creativity Media. It also benefits from tax incentives and backing from Business Finland, Business Tampere, and the City of Tampere.
