Fresh from the recent releases of Deep Fear on Netflix and No Way Up on VOD, another spine-chilling shark attack thriller is making waves in 2024. Titled Something in the Water, this upcoming film from Studiocanal plunges viewers into a harrowing tale of survival against the backdrop of an idyllic destination wedding.

In Something in the Water, we follow Meg, portrayed by Hiftu Quasem (Ten Percent), as she reluctantly attends the wedding of her old friend Lizzie, played by Lauren Lyle (Outlander), in the Caribbean. Accompanied by her friends Cam, portrayed by Nicole Rieko Setsuko (Eavesdropping), and Ruth, played by Ellouise Shakespeare-Hart (One Four Three), as well as her former partner Kayla, portrayed by Natalie Mitson (The Larkins), Meg finds herself drawn back into a world haunted by a traumatic past event she shared with Kayla.

However, what starts as a joyous celebration quickly descends into chaos when the wedding party is besieged by a horde of ravenous sharks. As terror grips the group, they must fight tooth and nail to survive the relentless onslaught of the ocean’s deadliest predators.

Directed by Hayley Easton Street and penned by Cat Clarke, Something in the Water promises a heart-pounding cinematic experience that will keep audiences on the edge of their seats. While the film is set to hit UK theaters on July 5, 2024, details about its release in the United States are yet to be announced. Keep an eye out for updates as the suspense builds for this thrilling aquatic horror.
