BD reported today that director Alex Herron brings a fresh twist to the conventional slasher genre in his upcoming film, Dark Windows. The movie pits a group of vacationing teens against a masked killer but hints at a potential surprise—the teens may not be as innocent as they appear.
Brainstorm Media will release the horror thriller in select theaters and on demand on August 18, 2023.
Dark Windows promises to take audiences on a thrilling journey of passion, loss, terror, and revenge, delivering unimaginable horrors along the way.
The film follows a group of teenagers who embark on a trip to an isolated summerhouse in the countryside. What was meant to be a peaceful getaway quickly transforms into a nightmarish ordeal when a masked man begins terrorizing them in the most gruesome ways imaginable.
Written by Wolf Kraft, Dark Windows features an ensemble cast including Anna Bullard (Marinette), Annie Hamilton (The Wolf of Snow Hollow), Rory Alexander, Jóel Sæmundsson, and Morten Holst.
Director Alex Herron, known for his previous work on Leave—a horror film centered around a young woman searching for her origins after being abandoned at a cemetery as an infant—brings his storytelling expertise to Dark Windows. The film is produced by Alex Herron, Jens Ramborg, John Clark, David Kang.
Herron shares his interest in exploring the choices made by young people and the consequences that follow: “In Dark Windows, Tilly and her friends have made one of the worst choices of their young lives and are about to face the most extreme punishment for it.”
