‘Scream VII’ Set to Hit Theaters in February 2026!
Neve Campbell is reprising her role as Sidney Prescott in the upcoming ‘Scream VII‘, which will officially hit theaters on February 27, 2026.
The film, currently untitled, will be directed by original ‘Scream’ writer Kevin Williamson, with the script penned by Guy Busick based on a story by James Vanderbilt and Busick.
Courteney Cox is expected to return as Gale Weathers, although she has yet to finalize her contract.
The franchise has faced some turmoil recently, with new series leads Melissa Barrera and Jenna Ortega both stepping away from the projectâBarrera was fired, while Ortega’s exit was announced later. It remains uncertain whether Jasmin Savoy Brown or Mason Gooding will also return for ‘Scream VII’.
According to Campbell, the new installment will focus on Sidney Prescott as the central character. âWe are going to follow Sidney,â she confirmed to ET Online over the summer.
âThey pitched the concept to me, and thatâs why I decided to come back,â Campbell shared. âI love these movies; theyâre so much fun to be a part of. Iâm incredibly grateful for them and could never have imagined being involved in a franchise that has lasted this long.â
Sidney appeared as a supporting character in 2022âs ‘Scream’, but Campbell notably did not return for ‘Scream VI’ the following year due to a pay dispute. The last two films, directed by Radio Silence, introduced a new generation of characters alongside legacy figures, but significant changes have occurred since ‘Scream VI”s release.
Stay tuned for more updates on ‘Scream VII’ as they become available.
