‘Saint Maud’ Actress Morfydd Clark Takes the Lead in Revenge Thriller ‘Uncle’
Director Joe Marcantonio, known for his work on “Kindred,” is set to helm the upcoming revenge thriller “Uncle,” according to Deadline. The film will feature Morfydd Clark from “Saint Maud” and Eddie Marsan from “Deadpool 2” in leading roles, alongside Ṣọpẹ́ Dìrísù from “His House.”
In “Uncle,” the story revolves around Millie, a barely teenage girl, and her Uncle John (played by Dìrísù), who embark on a brutal mission of revenge and retribution following the savage murder of their family. As they get closer to their targets, Millie must confront the decision of whether she is ready to tread the bloody path of vengeance and face the violent consequences, leading her prematurely into the harsh realities of adulthood.
The screenplay for “Uncle” was penned by Joe Marcantonio and Owynne Dawkins. The film’s worldwide sales will be handled by WestEnd, as reported by Deadline.
Morfydd Clark expressed her excitement for the project, stating, “I’m thrilled to be working on a project so specific to rural Wales but with so much resonance with contemporary issues affecting people everywhere. The script gripped me, and working with such talented filmmakers, cast, and crew is a dream.”
