Ryan Coogler and Michael B. Jordan Join Forces Again for Confidential Genre Project
Late last night, The Hollywood Reporter revealed that Ryan Coogler, the director of Creed, and star Michael B. Jordan are joining forces once again for an undisclosed “feature film project.”
What adds an extra layer of excitement is THR’s description of the untitled project as a “genre movie,” hinting at its potential placement within the realms of sci-fi and/or horror.
Ryan Coogler, known for his work on Black Panther, has not only written the script but will also be taking on the directorial role. THR emphasizes that it’s an original idea from Coogler, who will also serve as the lead producer.
The project is shrouded in such secrecy that little information is available. Executives and buyers had to visit the Beverly Hills offices of WME, the agency representing Coogler and Jordan, to review the script and gather details. These meetings occurred last week.
According to THR, there’s a period element to the story, adding an intriguing layer to the mysterious project.
Coogler is joined in the production by Zinzi Coogler and Sev Ohanian.
In a related note, Michael B. Jordan, known for his involvement in genre features, recently attached himself to produce “The Dwelling,” a horror movie based on a short story from Amazon Studios. The story follows a newly divorced father who discovers a buried house in his backyard, leading to a blurred line between reality and imagination as things take an unsettling turn.
As more details emerge, stay tuned for updates on both of these intriguing projects.
