‘Resident Evil: Death Island’ Set to Arrive on Blu-Ray and Digital Platforms on July 25th
Sony Pictures has unveiled the release details for the highly anticipated Resident Evil: Death Island film. While it won’t receive a theatrical release outside of Japan, fans can look forward to its digital release and availability on Steelbook 4K UHD and Blu-Ray formats on July 25. Pre-orders are already open for those eager to secure their copies.
The Blu-Ray and 4K editions will come packed with exciting extras, including featurettes such as “Genesis of Death Island,” “Jill Valentine: The Return,” “Motion Capture Set Tour,” “Designing Death Island,” “Voicing Death Island,” “The Birth of Death Island,” and a Design Gallery.
Directed by Eiichiro Hasumi and written by Makoto Fukami, Resident Evil: Death Island serves as a sequel to 2017’s Resident Evil: Vendetta. The film features an impressive voice cast including Matthew Mercer, Stephanie Panisello, Kevin Dorman, Nicole Tompkins, and Erin Cahill.
The plot revolves around Jill Valentine dealing with a zombie outbreak and a new T-Virus in San Francisco, Leon Kennedy pursuing a kidnapped DARPA scientist, and Claire Redfield investigating a monstrous fish wreaking havoc in the bay. Joined by Chris Redfield and Rebecca Chambers, the team’s separate cases lead them to Alcatraz Island, where they uncover a new evil waiting for their arrival.
