Release of ‘Venom 3’ Pushed Back to November 2024
Tom Hardy is set to reprise his role as Venom in Sony’s upcoming installment, Venom 3, and recent updates indicate a slight delay in its release date.
Initially slated for July 12, the theatrical release of Venom 3 has been rescheduled to November 8, 2024.
Starring alongside Hardy are Chiwetel Ejiofor (known for his role in “Doctor Strange”) and Juno Temple (“Ted Lasso”).
Kelly Marcel, the writer of both Venom and Venom 2, is taking on the directorial role for the third installment. Marcel, who also produced the first two films, will continue to play a significant role in Venom 3’s production. She has not only penned the screenplay but is also on board as a producer.
As for the plot details, they remain shrouded in mystery. What is known is that Tom Hardy will return as the lethal protector Venom, following the success of the first two films, which grossed a combined $1.36 billion worldwide at the box office. The article from Deadline notes, “It is also unknown who will be joining Hardy from previous films or if any characters from the Sony Pictures Universe of Marvel Characters will be joining the film.”
The first Venom movie was directed by Ruben Fleischer, while Andy Serkis took the directorial reins for Venom: Let There Be Carnage in 2021. The sequel saw Tom Hardy’s Venom facing off against Woody Harrelson’s Carnage. Importantly, the sequel established that these Venom movies are part of the larger Marvel Cinematic Universe, hinting at potential connections in the upcoming third installment.
The production team for Venom 3 includes Avi Arad, Matt Tolmach, Amy Pascal, and Hutch Parker.
