In the world of The Beauty, a comic series from Image Comics, achieving physical perfection is possible—but it comes with a devastating cost. This chilling concept will soon be brought to life on screen, as Variety reports that Rebecca Hall has been cast in the TV adaptation of the series, produced by Ryan Murphy and FX.

Joining Hall in the 11-episode series are Evan Peters, Ashton Kutcher, Anthony Ramos, and Jeremy Pope.

Set in a society obsessed with outward beauty, The Beauty explores a disturbing question: what if there was a way to guarantee ever-increasing beauty every day, but at the price of contracting a sexually transmitted disease? In this world, physical perfection is within reach for most people. However, Detectives Foster and Vaughn will soon uncover the horrific consequences lurking beneath the surface.

This series is based on the The Beauty comic, created by Jeremy Haun and Jason A. Hurley. The official synopsis reads: “Modern society is obsessed with outward beauty. What if there was a way to guarantee you could become more and more beautiful every day? What if it was a sexually transmitted disease? The vast majority of the population has taken advantage of it, but Detectives Foster and Vaughn will soon discover it comes at a terrible price.”

The Beauty will be co-created by Ryan Murphy and Matthew Hodgson for FX.

Rebecca Hall, known for her recent role in Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire, also starred in The Night House and Resurrection.
