Prepare for an adrenaline-pumping ride as Lionsgate and Saban Films gear up to release the alligator horror movie, ‘The Flood,’ this summer. Scheduled to hit theaters, On Demand, and Digital platforms on July 14, 2023, ‘The Flood’ presents an intriguing premise reminiscent of classic monster movies. While it features alligators inside a prison, the execution appears to be more akin to Alexandre Aja’s thrilling ‘Crawl’ than the typical offerings found on the SYFY network.

Imagine the intensity of ‘Crawl’ combined with the tension of ‘Assault on Precinct 13.’

Directed by Brandon Slagle (‘Frost,’ ‘The Dawn’) and co-written by Chad Law (‘Section 8,’ ‘Close Range,’ ‘6 Bullets’) and Josh Ridgway (‘The Sector,’ ‘Howlers’), ‘The Flood’ takes viewers on a suspenseful journey. The film revolves around a group of in-transit prisoners and their guards who find themselves trapped with a horde of giant, ravenous alligators after a massive hurricane floods Louisiana.

Starring in this gripping tale are Casper Van Dien (‘Starship Troopers,’ ‘Alita: Battle Angel,’ ‘Sleepy Hollow’), Nicky Whelan (‘Hall Pass,’ ‘Halloween II’), and Louis Mandylor (‘Rambo: Last Blood,’ ‘Suckers’). Together, they bring their talent and intensity to the screen, promising an unforgettable cinematic experience.

As ‘The Flood’ barrels towards its release, fans of thrilling horror movies can look forward to a suspenseful and action-packed adventure that combines the terror of monstrous alligators with the harrowing circumstances faced by the characters. With its R-rating and promises of intense violence, gore, and impactful language, ‘The Flood’ is set to deliver a thrilling ride that will keep audiences on the edge of their seats.
