The supernatural horror film “Queen of Bones” secured a distribution deal this week, as Falling Forward Films acquired the rights for its release, according to Deadline. Anticipated to hit theaters later this year, the movie features a stellar cast including Julia Butters (“The Fabelmans”), Jacob Tremblay (“The Predator,” “The Toxic Avenger”), Martin Freeman (“Fargo”), and Taylor Schilling (“Pam & Tommy”).

“Queen of Bones” unfolds in the folk horror genre and centers around twin siblings, Lily (Butters) and Sam (Tremblay), residing on a remote homestead in 1931 Oregon with their widowed father, Malcolm (Freeman), a violinmaker. The story takes a chilling turn when the siblings discover an Icelandic spell book in the cellar, prompting suspicions of a connection between their mother’s death and ominous forces in the surrounding woods. In their quest for the truth, Lily and Sam embark on a perilous mission, pressuring their father and his friend Ida May (Schilling) to unveil the secrets shrouded in darkness.

Directed by Robert Budreau (“Delia’s Gone”) from a screenplay by Michael Burgner (“The Darkest Corner of Paradise”), “Queen of Bones” was produced by Appian Way, Lumanity Productions, and Productivity Media.

Scott Kennedy, Founder and CEO of Falling Forward, expressed enthusiasm about the film, stating, “Queen of Bones is a remarkably elevated genre story that can play really big, which is why we believe it deserves, and will have, a wide theatrical release later this year. We were captivated with this film, which is so distinguished in its own voice, after its world premiere in Toronto and were relentless to get it on the Falling Forward slate. We’re honored to be a part of the film’s journey to captivating audiences in theaters across the nation.”
