Babak Anvari, the director behind Under the Shadow and Wounds, is back with his latest project, the psychological thriller Hallow Road. Deadline has released a trio of first-look images, offering a glimpse at the film’s star, Rosamund Pike (Saltburn).

Written by William Gillies, Hallow Road also stars Matthew Rhys (Perry Mason). The film follows two parents who find themselves racing against time after receiving a late-night phone call from their daughter, who has caused a tragic car accident.

The newly released images show Pike in a tense moment, hinting at the emotional intensity of the film. Notably, the scenes appear to take place within a car, suggesting that the thriller may unfold in a single, confined location.

Anvari shared his excitement about working with Pike and Rhys, stating, “I treasure the opportunity to collaborate with Rosamund and Matthew, two hugely talented actors I’ve long admired, on Hallow Road. I believe we can create something emotionally intense, charged with uncanny terror, that still taps into something relatable for all families. I can’t wait to bring Will’s wonderful script to life with this brilliant team.”

The film was shot in Ireland and Prague in November 2023, just two months after it was announced that Anvari would direct the official Cloverfield sequel. While updates on the Cloverfield project have been scarce, Hallow Road is sure to generate more buzz as it nears release.
