Producer Zainab Azizi shared on Instagram that production for Sam Raimi’s highly anticipated survival horror-thriller Send Help has officially wrapped in Australia. The film, co-produced by Raimi and Azizi, is slated for release in theaters on January 30, 2026, under 20th Century Studios.

Send Help follows the harrowing journey of two colleagues who survive a plane crash and find themselves stranded on a deserted island. Forced to confront past tensions and work together, they quickly realize that surviving the island’s harsh conditions is not just a physical struggle, but a mental battle of wills and wits.

The film stars Oscar® nominee Rachel McAdams (Doctor Strange) and Dylan O’Brien (The Maze Runner), alongside Dennis Haysbert (24) and Chris Pang (Crazy Rich Asians). The thrilling plot, described as a blend of Misery and Castaway, is brought to life from a script by Damian Shannon and Mark Swift, the screenwriters behind Freddy vs. Jason and Friday the 13th.

Cinematographer Bill Pope, known for his iconic collaborations with Raimi on Darkman, Army of Darkness, and the Spider-Man trilogy, brings his visual expertise to the project, promising a gripping and atmospheric look for the film.

Directed by Raimi, Send Help marks the legendary filmmaker’s long-awaited return to horror. While Raimi most recently directed the Marvel sequel Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, Send Help will be his first solo horror project since 2009’s Drag Me to Hell. Fans are eager to see what he delivers in this chilling new tale. Stay tuned for more updates as the release date approaches.
