At this year’s Sundance Film Festival announcement, one of the intriguing films revealed is “Your Monster,” set to bring a unique blend of horror and comedy to the screen, featuring Melissa Barrera (known for her role in Scream VI).

Director, writer, and producer Caroline Lindy spearheads this movie, offering a sneak peek into “Your Monster” through fresh images unveiled by Sundance. The visuals tease a fresh perspective, as Barrera takes on a role akin to the Bride of Frankenstein, adding a unique twist to the romantic monster movie premise.

The film follows Laura Franco, an actress whose life takes a downturn until a peculiar and oddly charming monster residing in her closet helps her rediscover her voice.

Joining Barrera in this tale are Tommy Dewey, Meghann Fahy, Edmund Donovan, and Kayla Foster, with producers including Kayla Foster, Shannon Reilly, Melanie Donkers, and Kira Carstensen.

Set to be featured in Sundance’s Midnight program for 2024, “Your Monster” expands on Caroline Lindy’s 2019 short film of the same name.

In addition to her involvement in “Your Monster,” Melissa Barrera is set to appear in an upcoming Universal Monsters project helmed by Radio Silence, the team behind her recent roles in Scream and Scream VI.
