PG-13 Rating Confirmed for ‘Godzilla Minus One’ Due to ‘Creature Violence’
After a lengthy hiatus, the first Japanese-produced Godzilla film since 2016’s “Shin Godzilla” is gearing up for release. Toho’s “Godzilla Minus One” is set to make its return to the big screen, and we’ve just received word of its official MPA rating.
“Godzilla Minus One” has been granted a “PG-13” rating, primarily due to “creature violence and action.”
The highly anticipated film is scheduled to premiere in Japanese theaters on November 3, 2023. Fans in the United States won’t have to wait much longer, as Toho’s iconic Godzilla is set to roar back into American theaters on December 1, 2023.
The film’s official plot synopsis, as revealed in a recent trailer, sets the stage for a postwar Japan grappling with a new terror: Godzilla. In the face of this devastating threat, the people must not only survive but find a way to fight back.
Takashi Yamazaki, known for his work on “Lupin III: The First,” takes the director’s chair for this installment. “Godzilla Minus One” marks the 30th live-action film in Toho’s illustrious kaiju franchise.
In a delightful nod to Godzilla enthusiasts, Pluto TV introduced a dedicated 24/7 Godzilla Channel just last month. The channel offers a treasure trove of classic movies, including some rarities not available on any other platform. Godzilla fans, old and new, have a lot to look forward to in the coming months.
