‘Pendulum’: Norman Reedus Teams Up with Joseph Gordon-Levitt in Aronofsky-Produced Film

The Walking Dead star Norman Reedus is set to join Joseph Gordon-Levitt (Inception) and Phoebe Dynevor (Bridgerton) in Pendulum, a new psychological horror film produced by Darren Aronofsky (Black Swan, Requiem for a Dream), according to Deadline.

Production on Pendulum is now underway in New Mexico.

The film marks the feature directorial debut of Mark Heyman, the screenwriter behind Black Swan and The Boogeyman. Heyman also penned the original script, described as a “terrifying new genre film” with heavy psychological and cult horror elements.

Plot Details:

Pendulum follows Patrick (Gordon-Levitt) and Abigail (Dynevor), a young couple seeking emotional healing after a traumatic event. They travel to a mysterious new-age retreat in the New Mexico desert, hoping for a fresh start. But while Abigail becomes drawn to the retreat’s alluring leader, Patrick grows suspicious of the group’s unsettling spiritual practices.

As paranoia escalates, the couple must confront the horrifying truth behind the retreat—and decide whether healing is worth the price.

Norman Reedus plays the friend who introduces the couple to the retreat, setting the unsettling events in motion.

Production Team:

The film is produced by Darren Aronofsky’s Protozoa Pictures, alongside Jacob Jaffke (X, Dream Scenario) for Motel Mojave and Dave Caplan (Longlegs, The Monkey) for C2 Motion Picture Group.

What’s Next for Reedus:

Reedus recently wrapped filming on Season 3 of The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon, which is expected to premiere later this year on AMC.
