The official synopsis of “Dario Argento Panico” reveals, “Dario Argento found his creative sanctuary in the seclusion of hotel rooms, where he birthed his most remarkable cinematic works. Returning to this intimate setting, he revisits the place that ignited his creative passion to conclude his latest script and engages in a candid interview, all under the watchful eye of a film crew chronicling his life for a cinematic tribute to his illustrious career.”

Simone Scadfi leads the direction of this documentary feature, having previously directed the 2019 Lucio Fulci biopic “Fulci for Fake.”

Recognized as the Master of Thrill and a luminary in Horror, Argento embarked on his directorial journey in 1970, becoming renowned for his vivid visual style and shocking narratives. His profound impact on the genre warrants the spotlight that this documentary now provides.

Before its Shudder debut, the IFC Center in New York will host a theatrical retrospective titled “Panic Attacks: The Films of Dario Argento,” showcasing Argento’s works from January 31 to February 8. The program includes the U.S. premiere of “Dario Argento Panico” alongside screenings of classics such as Suspiria, Inferno, Deep Red, Tenebrae, and more.

Giada Mazzoleni served as the producer alongside executive producer Manlio Gomarasca in bringing this project to life.
