Samuel Bodin, the talented creator behind the popular Netflix horror series “Marianne,” is making a comeback to the genre with Lionsgate’s upcoming horror movie, “Cobweb.” The official trailer for the film was released today, generating much anticipation among fans.

Set to hit theaters on July 21, “Cobweb” features renowned actors Lizzy Caplan (“Castle Rock”) and Antony Starr (“The Boys”) in the lead roles as parents who exude an aura of untrustworthiness. As the trailer suggests, their characters harbor dark secrets, which will gradually come to light during the summer.

The story revolves around eight-year-old Peter, who is tormented by a persistent tapping sound emanating from within his bedroom wall. Despite Peter’s insistence that the tapping is real, his parents dismiss it as a figment of his imagination. As Peter’s fear intensifies, he becomes convinced that his parents (played by Lizzy Caplan and Antony Starr) are concealing a sinister and dangerous secret, leading him to question their trust. For a child, there could be nothing more terrifying.

Joining the cast are Cleopatra Coleman and Woody Norman, adding to the film’s promising ensemble. The screenplay for “Cobweb” was penned by Chris Thomas Devlin. The production will be overseen by Roy Lee, producing through his Vertigo Entertainment banner, along with Seth Rogen, Evan Goldberg, and James Weaver, through Point Grey. Andrew Childs and Josh Fagen will serve as executive producers.

Lionsgate executives Jim Miller and Meredith Wieck are actively involved in the project, ensuring its progress and success. As the release date draws near, fans eagerly await the unveiling of “Cobweb” and the chilling secrets it promises to reveal.
