Official Poster for ‘It’s a Wonderful Knife’ Puts a Holiday Twist on a Classic
Today, the official domestic poster for “It’s a Wonderful Knife” has been unveiled, coinciding with the film’s recent “R” rating for its intense and gory violence.
“It’s a Wonderful Knife” offers a sinister twist on the beloved holiday classic, “It’s a Wonderful Life,” and the new poster playfully pokes fun at the 1946 original.
In this dark Christmas slasher film, written by Michael Kennedy (known for “Freaky”) and directed by Tyler MacIntyre (of “Tragedy Girls” fame), audiences can anticipate a blood-soaked spectacle when the movie hits theaters on November 10, 2023.
The story unfolds in the serene town of Angel Falls. A year after Winnie Carruthers saved her community from a deranged Christmas Eve killer, her life takes a nightmarish turn. When she wishes she had never been born, she finds herself trapped in a parallel universe, where she realizes that without her existence, things have gone terribly wrong. With the return of the killer, she must join forces with an unlikely ally from town misfits to unmask the murderer and escape this alternate reality.
Leading the cast is Jane Widdop, renowned for her role in “Yellowjackets,” portraying ‘Winnie Carruthers.’ Joining her, Joel McHale, of “Community” fame, plays Winnie’s father ‘David,’ and Justin Long, known for “Barbarian,” takes on the role of the town’s benefactor, ‘Mr. Waters.’ The film also features Katharine Isabelle (“Ginger Snaps”), Jess McLeod (“One of Us Is Lying”), and Cassandra Naud (“Influencer”).
Michael Kennedy not only crafted the screenplay but also serves as a producer of the film.
Mark Ward, the Chief Acquisitions Officer of RLJE Films, expressed enthusiasm about the release, stating, “We’re excited to release ‘It’s a Wonderful Knife’ and once again work with its amazing cast and filmmakers. Over the last few years, we’ve been fortunate to have released horror/holiday films that have been embraced by audiences, and we believe this one is no exception.” Horror and holiday enthusiasts can anticipate a thrilling and darkly humorous cinematic experience when the film finally arrives.
