In Shudder’s upcoming film, dreams and ambitions take a terrifying turn as a mythical demon haunts the life of one woman. The streaming service has just released a chilling new trailer, setting the stage for their annual “FearFest” celebration.

Nightmare” will have its exclusive streaming premiere on Shudder on Friday, September 29, and will also be available to stream on AMC+.

In the movie, Mona and Robby, a young couple in love, are embarking on an exciting new chapter in their lives. Robby has secured his dream job, and they’ve found a fantastic deal on a spacious but rundown apartment. They ignore the constant noise from their neighbors and a crying baby, as well as the apartment’s need for significant renovations. However, Mona begins to experience night terrors that intensify with each sleep. Despite Robby’s eagerness to start a family, Mona is hesitant. As her problems escalate, she becomes convinced that a mythical demon known as the Mare is attacking her, with the intent of possessing her unborn child.

The new trailer and poster tease a psychological horror reminiscent of “A Nightmare on Elm Street.” How will this dreamlike menace compare to the infamous Freddy Krueger?

The Norwegian-language film is written and directed by Kjersti Helen Raasmussen, known for “The Tunnel.” “Nightmare” was produced by Einar Loftesnes and John Einar Hagen.

Be prepared for sleepless nights when “Nightmare” arrives exclusively on Shudder on Friday, September 29.
