‘Night Swim,’ a Blumhouse Horror Film, Accessible for Home Viewing This Week
Universal, Blumhouse, and producer James Wan present the first theatrical horror release of the year with “Night Swim,” set to arrive for home viewing this week.
Directed by Bryce McGuire, “Night Swim” becomes available for rental or purchase on Digital starting January 23. The film, which hit theaters on January 5, 2024, has already made a splash at the global box office, amassing $36 million.
Expanding on McGuire’s 2014 short film of the same name, the movie features Wyatt Russell as Ray Waller, a former major league baseball player facing early retirement due to a degenerative illness. Ray, along with his wife Eve (played by Oscar® nominee Kerry Condon), teenage daughter Izzy, and young son Elliot, moves into a new home. Ray, hoping for a return to professional baseball, sees the shimmering backyard swimming pool as both a source of fun for the kids and a means of physical therapy for himself. However, a dark secret from the home’s past unleashes a malevolent force, pulling the family into the depths of inescapable terror.
Adapted from Rod Blackhurst and Bryce McGuire’s acclaimed short film, “Night Swim” is written and directed by Bryce McGuire, with production by James Wan (known for the Saw, Insidious, and The Conjuring franchises) and Jason Blum (producer of Halloween films, The Black Phone, and The Invisible Man). The film is executive produced by Michael Clear and Judson Scott for Wan’s Atomic Monster, and by Ryan Turek for Blum’s Blumhouse.
