THR Reports that Sundance film ‘My Animal‘ starring Amandla Stenberg has been acquired by Paramount.

The Hollywood Reporter notes, “The studio has landed global distribution rights, excluding Canada, with distribution plans still to be determined.”

In the film

“Heather, an outcast teenage hockey goalie (Bobbi Salvör Menuez), falls for the town’s newcomer (Amandla Stenberg), an alluring but tormented figure skater. As their relationship deepens, Heather’s growing desires clash with her darkest secret, forcing her to control the animal within.”

My Animal is the feature debut of director Jacqueline Castel while Jae Matthews wrote the screenplay.
