New Film in Development: ‘Jurassic World’ by Original ‘Jurassic Park’ Scribe David Koepp
The architect behind the original Jurassic Park, David Koepp, is set to return to the realm of dinosaurs as reported by THR. Koepp is currently penning the script for the upcoming installment in the Jurassic World franchise.
Having previously written The Lost World: Jurassic Park II for Steven Spielberg, Koepp boasts an impressive portfolio including notable films like Carlito’s Way, Mission: Impossible, Stir of Echoes, and War of the Worlds.
According to THR, the project has been quietly progressing, and the script has garnered positive feedback, leading to speculation about a potential release date in 2025.
This new addition to the Jurassic World saga promises to explore “a new Jurassic era,” featuring a fresh storyline and the possibility of introducing entirely new characters.
The development follows the conclusion of the Jurassic World trilogy, comprising Jurassic World, Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom, and Jurassic World: Dominion, which wrapped up in 2022.
Adding to the franchise’s expansion, “Jurassic World: Chaos Theory,” an animated series set in the world of “Jurassic World: Camp Cretaceous,” is slated for release later this year on Netflix.
Frank Marshall is set to produce the upcoming installment, with Steven Spielberg serving as an executive producer.
