Director Jon Garcia and co-writer Zach Carter present a captivating new film, “Summoning the Spirit,” infusing the folklore of Sasquatch with supernatural elements. An intriguing trailer sets the stage for this cult-in-the-woods thriller, offering a fresh perspective on the well-known cryptid.

Dark Star Pictures has announced the digital and DVD release of the supernatural Sasquatch horror, “Summoning the Spirit,” on August 8, 2023.

Watch the trailer below for a glimpse of the chilling Sasquatch encounters and the intense atmosphere of the cult.

In “Summoning the Spirit,” Carla (Krystal Millie Valdes) and Dean (Ernesto Reyes, “American Gods”) seek solace from city life by purchasing a remote forest home. However, their dreams of a peaceful existence are shattered when they discover they are living on cult grounds. The cult leader claims to have a telepathic connection with a legendary flesh-eating creature lurking in the surrounding woods. Carla and Dean are forced to confront the terrifying truth behind the cult’s prophecy.

A telepathic link to a flesh-eating Sasquatch certainly spells trouble. As any horror enthusiast knows, staying away from the woods is rule number one.

The film is produced by Dark Star President Michael Repsch, Joe Jatcko, Lacy Todd, and executive produced by Carla Berkowitz (Critical Thinking), Jim Kierstead (six-time Tony Award winner), William Fernandez (three-time Emmy nominee), and Michael Rubin.

“Summoning the Spirit” previously premiered at the Miami Film Festival. Greg Hale, producer of 1999’s “The Blair Witch Project,” describes the film as a noteworthy addition to the sub-sub-genre of Bigfoot horror. He applauds its fresh take on the Sasquatch legend, delivering both thrills and entertainment.

Mark your calendars for the arrival of this captivating Sasquatch tale on Digital and DVD on August 8, courtesy of Dark Star Pictures.
