Prepare to be captivated by the chilling addition to Mad Cave Studios’ horror comic lineup with “The Devil That Wears My Face.” Written by the esteemed David Pepose, known for his Ringo Award-winning work on “Moon Knight: City of the Dead” and “Savage Avengers,” and illustrated by Bram Stoker Award-nominated artist Alex Cormack, acclaimed for his contributions to “Sea of Sorrows” and “The Crimson Cage,” this supernatural horror series is set to send shivers down readers’ spines. With lettering by Justin Birch, this collaboration promises a thrilling and suspenseful experience exclusively from Mad Cave Studios.

Combining elements of “Face/Off” and “The Exorcist,” “The Devil That Wears My Face” explores a harrowing tale of terror, action, and body-swapping that will keep readers on the edge of their seats. Set in the year 1740, the Vatican is in disarray as exorcist Father Franco Vieri grapples with a crisis of faith. Tasked with the crucial mission of rescuing a Spanish nobleman from the sadistic demon Legion, Vieri finds himself trapped in a stranger’s body when the exorcism takes a tragic turn. As he navigates the horrors that unfold with the Devil wearing his face, the series delves into themes of friendship, sacrifice, and the depths of faith.

David Pepose expressed his excitement about his Mad Cave debut, stating, “The Devil That Wears My Face tackles many of my favorite themes, ranging from horror and action to body-swap intrigue, and explores friendship, sacrifice, and the deepest crises of faith. Working with Alex Cormack on this project has been an absolute pleasure, and his incredible art solidifies his position as one of the premier horror artists in comics.”

Alex Cormack also shared his enthusiasm, remarking, “I’m thrilled about ‘The Devil That Wears My Face’ reaching readers. Working with David has been fantastic, and some of the scenes I’ve illustrated in this series have been career goals of mine. It’s an amazing book that I would proudly display, even if I wasn’t involved in its creation!”

“The Devil That Wears My Face” will haunt comic book shelves starting October 2023, just in time to embrace the eerie spirit of the spooky season.
