M. Night Shyamalan is producing the upcoming thriller ‘Caddo Lake’ (formerly known as ‘The Vanishings At Caddo Lake’), with the official teaser trailer released this afternoon.

Set to premiere on October 10 on Max, ‘Caddo Lake’ is rated “PG-13” for its disturbing and bloody imagery, thematic elements, and brief strong language. Watch the trailer below to get a glimpse of the film.

The movie, written and directed by Celine Held and Logan George (‘Topside’) for New Line Cinema, centers on the mysterious disappearance of an 8-year-old girl at Caddo Lake. As the case unfolds, past deaths and disappearances become interconnected, dramatically affecting a fractured family’s history.

The cast features Dylan O’Brien, Eliza Scanlen, Lauren Ambrose, Eric Lange, Sam Hennings, and Diana Hopper.

Shyamalan is producing ‘Caddo Lake’ through his Blinding Edge Pictures. The inspiration for the film came when Held and George stumbled upon a photograph of Caddo Lake online, leading them to visit the cypress forest straddling the Texas-Louisiana border. Filming took place in and around Karnak, Texas, during late 2021 and 2022.

‘Caddo Lake’ is written and directed by Celine Held and Logan George, with production by M. Night Shyamalan, Ashwin Rajan, Kara Durrett, and Josh Godfrey, and executive production by Kimberly Steward, Harrison Huffman, and Will Greenfield.

In a recent statement, Shyamalan praised Held and George: “The show ‘Servant’ has given me the incredible opportunity to discover new storytellers from around the world. Celine Held and Logan George are an exceptional writing and directing team. Their dynamic storytelling and the film they’ve created are sure to have a deep impact on audiences.”
