NEON has been strategically building anticipation for “Longlegs” with a mysterious marketing campaign over the past several months, culminating today in the release of its final trailer, promising an intense dive into unyielding terror.

Scheduled to hit theaters on July 12, “Longlegs” stars Nicolas Cage and Maika Monroe, with Monroe portraying FBI Agent Lee Harker and Cage embodying the role of a notorious serial killer. Directed by Osgood Perkins, known for “The Blackcoat’s Daughter” and “Gretel & Hansel,” the film is positioned as a return to classic Hollywood psychological thrillers, drawing favorable comparisons to the ’90s hit “The Silence of the Lambs.”

In “Longlegs,” Agent Harker grapples with the enigmatic case of a relentless serial killer, delving into dark, occult dimensions. As the investigation unravels, Harker uncovers unsettling personal ties to the killer, racing against time to prevent further tragedy.

Alicia Witt from “The Walking Dead” and Blair Underwood of “American Crime Story” also feature prominently in the cast.

The film, rated R for its graphic violence, disturbing imagery, and intense language, has already made an impression with its unnerving portrayal of evil. As described in reviews, “Longlegs” immerses viewers in its chilling narrative with haunting visuals and a palpable sense of dread, challenging societal fascination with true crime.

Produced by Nicolas Cage’s Saturn Films along with Dan Kagan, Brian Kavanaugh-Jones, Dave Caplan, and Chris Ferguson, “Longlegs” promises to deliver a visceral and unforgettable cinematic experience this summer.
