“Lisa Frankenstein” Teaser Trailer: Horror-Comedy by Diablo Cody Set for February 2024 Release
Diablo Cody, known for her work on films like “Juno” and “Jennifer’s Body,” is returning to the horror genre with the upcoming movie “Lisa Frankenstein.” Cody wrote the script, and the film will be directed by Zelda Williams.
Focus Features has recently announced that Kathryn Newton, known for her role in “Freaky,” and Cole Sprouse from “Riverdale” will lead the cast. The film is set to hit theaters on February 9, 2024. You can catch a first look at the movie in the teaser trailer above.
Carla Gugino (“The Fall of the House of Usher”), Liza Soberano (“Alone/Together”), Joe Chrest (“Stranger Things”), and Henry Eikenberry (“The Crowded Room”) also feature in the film.
In “Lisa Frankenstein,” set in 1989, the story revolves around an unpopular high school student who accidentally reanimates a dashing Victorian corpse during a lightning storm. She embarks on a mission to rebuild him into the man of her dreams using a broken tanning bed in her garage.
Here’s the official plot synopsis: “A coming-of-rage love story about a misunderstood teenager and her high school crush, who happens to be a handsome corpse. After a set of playfully horrific circumstances bring him back to life, the two embark on a murderous journey to find love, happiness, and a few missing body parts along the way.”
Diablo Cody will also produce the film alongside Mason Novick.
