Barbarian actor Justin Long and Kate Bosworth are set to star in Coyote, a thrilling survival film that will see them facing off against a pack of ferocious coyotes amid a raging wildfire. The project was officially announced today by Capstone Studios’ CEO, Christian Mercuri.
Directed by Colin Minihan (What Keeps You Alive, Grave Encounters), Coyote is based on a story by Daniel Meersand, Nick Simon (The Pyramid, The Girl in the Photographs), and Tad Daggerhart (The Expendables 4, Black Lotus), with the screenplay written by Daggerhart and Simon.
Set in the Hollywood Hills, the film follows a family who must fight for their lives against a pack of crazed coyotes during a catastrophic wildfire. With danger on all sides, their survival will depend on quick thinking and sheer willpower.
Production on Coyote began on November 11 in Bogotá, Colombia.
The film is produced by Nathan Klingher (Land of Bad) and Ford Corbett for Gramercy Park, along with James Harris (Fall) of Teashop Productions and Jib Polhemus (Old Guy) of Source Management. Capstone’s Roman Viaris and Ruzanna Kegeyan will serve as executive producers, alongside Jason Carpenter, Adam Mirels, Robbie Mirels, Tyler Gould, Michael Sklut, Nick Simon, Tad Daggerhart, Jijo Reed, Justin Long, and Kate Bosworth.
Ruzanna Kegeyan, Capstone’s executive producer, shared her excitement: “We are thrilled to collaborate with Gramercy Park on this electrifying story. The combination of Justin and Kate is perfect to bring this gripping tale to life, where a family faces the dual threat of an encroaching firestorm and a pack of hungry coyotes.”
Producer Nathan Klingher added, “We’re elated to have Capstone onboard for this project. With Colin Minihan at the helm, and such talented actors as Justin and Kate, we’re confident the film will deliver a tense, edge-of-your-seat experience for audiences worldwide.”
Colin Minihan, known for his work on What Keeps You Alive and the Grave Encounters franchise, has built a reputation for directing taut, suspenseful films. His other credits include Extraterrestrial and producing popular horror thrillers like Still/Born, Z, and Spiral under his production banner, Digital Interference.
Justin Long and Kate Bosworth, who are a real-life married couple, recently starred together in the vampire film House of Darkness.
Fans can expect Coyote to be a high-intensity survival thriller, blending nature’s dangers with the thrill of a family’s fight to stay alive.
