In “Aporia,” Greer portrays Sophie, a widow who finds herself confronted with a life-altering opportunity to undo a tragedy through a time machine. Struggling with overwhelming grief, the demands of her job, and parenting her devastated teenage daughter, Sophie faces an impossible decision when her late husband’s best friend, a former physicist, reveals the existence of a time-bending machine. The film poses the thought-provoking question: “If you had the ability to alter the past, would you?” As Sophie grapples with this dilemma, the unforeseen consequences of her choices become increasingly apparent.

Written and directed by Jared Moshé (known for “The Ballad of Lefty Brown”), “Aporia” is set to have its world premiere at the Fantasia Film Festival on July 27. Following its debut, the film is scheduled for a theatrical release in the United States on August 11 by Well Go USA.

Joining Greer in the cast are Edi Gathegi (“The Harder They Fall”), Payman Maadi (“A Separation”), and Faithe Herman (“This is Us,” “Shazam!”). Together, they bring this thought-provoking sci-fi thriller to life under Moshé’s meticulous direction.

Doris Pfardrescher, the President and CEO of Well Go USA, expressed her confidence in the film’s impact on audiences, stating, “Aporia is one of those gems that will have an impact on audiences long after they exit the theater.” Pfardrescher praised Moshé’s attention to detail and the film’s visual appeal, describing it as a captivating blend of chilling, heart-warming, and thought-provoking elements. “Aporia” explores profound themes of morality, control, and the far-reaching effects of grief.

Produced by Neda Armian (“Rachel Getting Married”) and T. Justin Ross (“The Old Ways”), the film boasts an impressive lineup of executive producers, including David Lawson, Peter Van Steemburg, Dennis Walker, Doris Pfardrescher, Christopher Alender, David A. Smith, Tyler Gould, Matthew Helderman, and Luke Taylor. The production is in association with Soapbox Films and has received financing from BondIt Media Capital.

Get ready for a mind-bending journey filled with suspense and moral complexity when “Aporia” hits the big screen.
