In an interview with Daily Dead in 2021, DeMonaco revealed his plan to write the next film and gauge audience interest. He proposed a time jump of five years after the events of “The Forever Purge,” presenting a divided America where different ideologies have reshaped the nation. This new installment would delve into the consequences of this fractured society.

In a recent update to Variety, DeMonaco confirmed that he completed the script approximately eight months ago. While the upcoming film will share some similarities with its predecessors, it introduces viewers to a transformed America, ravaged by discord and defined by various ideologies. The Purge has become ingrained in this chaotic world, echoing DeMonaco’s earlier statements.

Leo Barnes, a former Los Angeles Police Department sergeant, is set to reprise his role in this potential sixth Purge movie. In previous films, Barnes sought revenge for his son’s death on Purge Night, ultimately choosing a different path. He later became the head of security for Senator Charlie Roan and eventually assumed the position of Director of the Secret Service.
