In 2025, ‘Kraken’, a Norwegian horror film, is set to unleash a mythical monster.
The Norwegian legend of the Kraken is set to come alive on the big screen in the upcoming monster movie titled “Kraken,” with early sales art revealed by THR this week.
Directed by Pål Øie, known for “The Tunnel,” the film is scheduled for a theatrical release in 2025.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the thriller follows Johanne, a marine biologist, who encounters eerie events while studying a fjord, including the gruesome deaths of two local teenagers.
Legend has it that at the bottom of Norway’s deepest fjord dwells a mythical monster, as colossal as a mountain, with numerous arms poised to crush and devour anything in its path.
The Kraken, resembling a giant sea creature akin to a squid or octopus, is a creature of local folklore in Norway and Iceland, occasionally rising from the depths to wreak havoc.
The screenplay for “Kraken” was penned by Vilde Eide.
International sales for the film are being handled by TrustNordisk.
