Two years ago, director David Bruckner unveiled a fresh take on Clive Barker’s iconic horror saga with “Hellraiser,” a direct-to-Hulu film. Starring Jamie Clayton as a new Hell Priest, the movie made its debut on Hulu in October 2022.

But was Bruckner’s “Hellraiser” a hit for Hulu? And what’s the status of future installments in the franchise? Producer Keith Levine shares exciting news: “Hellraiser 2” is officially in the works!

In a recent conversation with ComicBook.com, Levine revealed, “We are trying to do a follow-up and there have been conversations. I can’t exactly say where we’re at in those conversations, but [David] Bruckner is involved in those conversations.”

Levine highlighted the extensive effort dedicated to reviving the Hellraiser universe, from crafting the Cenobite design to mastering the film’s production. He expressed enthusiasm for the potential of future projects, stating, “Moving forward and going into another movie is just going to be even crazier and even more awesome.”

“We’re definitely hard at work on that,” Levine affirmed, “and hope we will have more news soon.”

He also emphasized their eagerness to expand the narrative within the Hellraiser universe, teasing, “[We’re] excited to tell more stories in the world.”

As fans await further updates on “Hellraiser 2” from Hulu, they can revisit the 2022 film, which follows “a young woman struggling with addiction (Odessa A’zion) [who] comes into possession of an ancient puzzle box, unaware that its purpose is to summon the Cenobites.”

Meanwhile, original Pinhead actor Doug Bradley hasn’t ruled out a potential return to the franchise. Bradley revealed his interest in reprising the role for an adaptation of Barker’s 2015 novel “The Scarlet Gospels.” He envisioned an older, darker Pinhead, intrigued by the prospect of exploring the character’s evolution over time.
