Heather Graham to Star in ‘Entity Within’, Inspired by the True Haunting Behind ‘The Entity’

Heather Graham (Boogie Nights) will star as Doris Bither in Entity Within, a new horror film based on one of the most documented supernatural cases in U.S. history. Set in 1974 suburban Los Angeles, the film tells the chilling story of a single mother violently attacked by an unseen force in her home. With no one believing her, she seeks help from a team of paranormal investigators.
Directed by Nick Simon (The Girl in the Photographs), the film is written by Thomas Fenton (Saw IV). Produced by Steven Schneider (Insidious, Paranormal Activity) and German Michael Torres, the cast also features Mimi Rogers (Ginger Snaps), Morgan Peter Brown (Absentia), and Kevin Keppy (Smile).
GVN Releasing is producing and handling U.S. distribution, with Alliance Media Partners representing the film at the Cannes Market.
Missy Valdez, GVN’s Head of Production, shared, “This film is based on a true story, and that truth is chilling. It’s an honor to bring Doris’s terrifying experiences to the screen with care and dignity. We believe this elevated horror film will resonate with both genre fans and new audiences alike.”
AMP’s Head of Sales, Anthony Buckner, added, “We’re thrilled to work with Heather Graham again and Nick Simon to bring Entity Within to Cannes. This high-concept, emotionally resonant horror film is one we’re excited to share with international buyers.”
The Bither case inspired Frank De Felitta’s 1978 book The Entity, which was adapted into a 1982 film starring Barbara Hershey.
