Halloween H20 Receives Special 25th Anniversary 4K Steelbook Release
In 1998, the iconic slasher film “Halloween” received a thrilling “twenty years later” sequel titled ‘Halloween H20′. Now, as we mark the 25th anniversary of this classic, Paramount is gearing up to honor it with a special 4K steelbook release. It’s incredible to realize that we are now farther removed from “H20’s” release than it was from the original “Halloween.” The 4K steelbook release is set to hit the shelves on September 26th, and eager fans can already pre-order copies through THIS LINK. Starring the original Halloween heroine, Jamie Lee Curtis, “H20” acknowledged the events of “Halloween II” (since Curtis was part of it) but disregarded the storyline of the Curtis-less parts 4, 5, and 6. Additionally, it chose not to acknowledge “Season of the Witch” and its eerie killer masks. Twenty years later, Curtis returned to the Halloween series for a trilogy that selectively followed only the events of the original “Halloween,” which included “H20.”
Directed by Steve Miner with a screenplay by Robert Zappia and Matt Greenberg, and some uncredited script work by Kevin Williamson, “Halloween H20” follows the gripping tale of Laurie Strode, the former babysitter who survived a harrowing massacre on October 31, 1978. Now living in Northern California under a new identity, Laurie works as the headmistress of a private school. However, her tranquil life is shattered as relentless knife-wielder Michael Myers relentlessly tracks her down. As Halloween looms closer, Laurie’s sense of dread intensifies – and with good reason.
The cast includes the talented Jamie Lee Curtis, joined by Adam Arkin, Michelle Williams, Adam Hann-Byrd, Jodi Lyn O’Keefe, Janet Leigh, Josh Hartnett, LL Cool J, and Joseph Gordon-Levitt.
For fans of “Halloween H20,” the 25th-anniversary celebration by Paramount is a delight, and the prospect of owning the 4K steelbook release is enticing. Are you excited about this commemorative release? Let us know in the comments below.
