After a lengthy wait, it seems that the sequel to the first Five Nights at Freddy’s movie is already in the works at Blumhouse.
Producer Jason Blum recently took to Twitter to give fans a glimpse behind the scenes, sharing a photo from inside Jim Henson’s Creature Shop. It appears that the team is hard at work on animatronic effects for the upcoming sequel, Five Nights at Freddy’s 2. Jim Henson’s Creature Shop, renowned for its stellar animatronics, contributed to the success of the first movie with its standout creations.
Blum’s tweet hints at the magic being conjured once again, stating, “Jim Henson’s Creature Shop is working their magic again! We aren’t sure what they’re working on, but we know it will be great!”
While an official announcement for the sequel has not yet been made, Blum’s tweet is likely to serve as just that. Fans can expect more details to emerge soon.
Last year’s Five Nights at Freddy’s, directed by Emma Tammi, proved to be a massive success for Blumhouse, becoming the studio’s highest-grossing movie of all time. The film follows Mike, played by Josh Hutcherson, who uncovers sinister happenings at an abandoned restaurant haunted by murderous animatronics after accepting a security guard job.
Based on the popular horror video game series, Five Nights at Freddy’s challenges players to survive five nights at Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza while evading the dangers posed by animatronic characters.
