Scott Derrickson, known for his work on ‘Sinister’, ‘The Black Phone’, and ‘Doctor Strange’, is set to release ‘The Gorge’ through Skydance and Apple Original Films, coming to Apple TV+ next year.

This afternoon, IGN unveiled the official poster and several first-look images, along with previously undisclosed plot details.

According to IGN, “Miles Teller and Anya Taylor-Joy star as elite snipers—one American and the other Lithuanian—stationed in watchtowers on opposite sides of a vast, classified gorge in an unknown location. Their mission is to protect the outside world from a mysterious evil that lurks within.”

As they bond from afar, they must remain vigilant against an unseen enemy. When the true threat to humanity is revealed, they must join forces in a grueling test of their physical and mental strength to keep the secret of the gorge hidden before it’s too late.

Derrickson describes ‘The Gorge’ as a blend of multiple genres, saying, “It incorporates elements of romance, science fiction, action, spy thriller, and even horror.”

The film is rated PG-13 for “intense sequences of violence and action, brief strong language, some suggestive material, and thematic elements.”

In addition to starring, Miles Teller will serve as an executive producer, with the script written by Zach Dean (The Tomorrow War). C. Robert Cargill (Sinister) and Sherryl Clark are producing.

Derrickson is also set to direct ‘The Black Phone 2’, which will release in October 2025.
