First Glimpse: ‘Goldilocks and the Three Bears: Death and Porridge’ – Fairytale-Inspired Slasher Film

Reimagining beloved characters from classic tales in a horror setting has become a popular trend as iconic figures enter the public domain. The latest addition to this lineup is the slasher film “Goldilocks and the Three Bears: Death and Porridge,” offering a twisted take on the familiar fairy tale.

Variety has provided a first glimpse into the upcoming horror flick, drawing comparisons to suspenseful hits like “The Strangers” and “The Purge.” In this adaptation, Goldilocks and the three bears reside in a secluded house deep within the woods. When a group of friends trespass into their domain, Goldilocks, leading the bears, takes it upon herself to eliminate the intruders.

Directed by Craig Rees of Rees Dragon Productions, the film stars Craig Rees, Olga Solo, Abigail Huxley, and Julian Amos in key roles. While a U.S. release date has yet to be announced, anticipation is building for this chilling reimagining.

The success of “Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey” at the box office last year has fueled the trend of adapting public domain stories into horror films, with a sequel already in the works for release later this year.
