The “Chucky” franchise has proven its adaptability, with Don Mancini’s recent movies and television series thrusting the iconic character into diverse settings such as a psychiatric hospital, a Catholic school, and even the White House. As fans eagerly await the return of “Chucky” Season 3, the question arises: where will the killer doll go next?

Could it be… space?

Don Mancini has playfully entertained the idea of sending Chucky to outer space, highlighting the character’s versatility. Reflecting on this possibility in 2021, Mancini remarked, “We’ve found that he operates successfully in all kinds of different tones and subgenres, whether it’s horror, or comedy, places in between. So I think as a character he’s versatile enough and appealing enough and interesting enough that he could probably go anywhere…even into outer space.”

More than two years later, at the Saturn Awards, Screen Rant inquired about the prospect of “Chucky in Space.” Mancini’s response? If the fans desire it, he’s got an idea for it!

“People keep asking that specific question. My response is, ‘Do you want him to go to space?’ Do you personally want him to go?'” Mancini expressed. “I feel like if there’s enough of a demand for that, we’ll have to do that eventually. I don’t know how quickly. But I have an idea for that.”

Considering that fellow horror icons like Jason Voorhees, Pinhead, and the Leprechaun have ventured into space, it’s entirely conceivable that Chucky could follow suit in the future. Fans will have to stay tuned to see where Chucky’s murderous exploits lead him next.
