Get ready for a wild ride as “Big Easy Queens” brings together drag queens, original musical numbers, zombies, and a “campy neo-giallo delight” in an upcoming film that is sure to captivate audiences. The movie will make its world premiere at the esteemed Popcorn Frights Festival in Florida. But before we dive into the exclusive trailer, let’s explore the intriguing storyline.

Set in the steamy underworld of Florida, “Big Easy Queens” revolves around Minnie Bouvèé, the Mob Queen of the Quarter, and her intense rivalry with her arch-nemesis, Poodles Makenzie. When Minnie orchestrates a brutal massacre of Poodles’ crew, she anticipates retaliation. However, she is caught off guard when a mysterious masked figure begins stalking her, leaving behind chilling notes and bouquets of gardenias. Is this the work of Poodles seeking revenge, or could it be Minnie’s estranged sister, who reenters her life after stealing her man years ago?

Directed by Erynn Dalton, “Big Easy Queens” features an ensemble cast including Miss Bouvèé, Benjamin Shaevitz, Jenifer McClain, Alexander Zenoz, Varla Jean Merman, and Matthew Darren. This marks Dalton’s second world premiere with Popcorn Frights, and she expresses her excitement about collaborating with the festival once again. Dalton proudly states, “Our film is a campy, glam-horror musical starring drag queens, so big props go to the Popcorn Frights team for embracing our unique vision and supporting queer horror.”
