Directed by Steven Pierce and produced by Framework Productions, ‘Herd’ boasts a stellar cast including Corbin Bernsen (known for ‘Major League’ and ‘Kiss Kiss, Bang Bang’), Timothy V. Murphy (‘Snowpiercer’ and ‘National Treasure: Book of Secrets’), Ellen Adair (‘Homeland’ and ‘The Sinner’), Mitzi Akaha (‘Archive 81’), and Jeremy Holm (‘Mr. Robot’ and ‘House of Cards’).
The story revolves around Jamie Miller (Adair) and her wife, Alex (Akaha), who embark on a secluded trip in rural Missouri to salvage their failing marriage. However, their plans take a dark turn when an accident leaves them trapped in Jamie’s hometown, now overrun by a virus that has transformed the residents into infected ‘Heps’.
Jamie and Alex find refuge with Big John Gruber (Holm) and his group, who transport them to a local veterinarian for medical assistance. As they seek safety in a makeshift warehouse serving as a survival base, a confrontation arises with a rival militia led by Sterling (Murphy), who initially appears interested in trade but turns hostile. Amidst the ensuing battle, Jamie is determined to find a way for them to escape and make it back home.
